Small businesses struggle so much (believe me, I know, I have a small shop on here for my travel cards and it is hard to keep it going!) and only we can help them keep going. Without our custom, they will be lost, and that would be a huge shame.
This is definitely an incomplete list, I am sure loads more of independent small businesses will come to light, and I will try and keep adding them. Some do repeat between the two sections I have split the traders into as they sell online and also do local/collection delivery.
On here you will find online gluten free sellers that ship nationwide in the first section, the second section I have listed small businesses that can't be added to my where to eat guide as they don't have a permanent "shop", so that is market traders, catering vans and home bakers (I have written the names of physical 100% gluten free bakeries in the UK at the bottom of this blog for reference - these can also be found on my where to eat guide). I've tried to split these into country and counties to find ones in your area easier.
So whether you are looking for gluten free festive goodies such as stollen or panettone, whether you want a gluten free celebration cake maker or are just looking for better breads, pies and treats, there are loads of small businesses you can look at on here. At the time of writing (November 2024) there are currently 41 online retailers and 71 market stalls/trailers/vans/home bakers. That's a lot of small businesses to support and I am sure there are loads more out there!
All these gluten free businesses sell some or all of their gluten free products online for nationwide delivery.
Roys Cakes and Bakes - gluten free cakes, tray bakes, biscuits, sausage rolls, pies and so much more. Website restocks at 8pm for delivery the following week, set an alarm though as they sell out fast. Can also pick up from their bakery in Ely (see below section)
Mad K Pies - for any type of pie! The best pies I have had, both sweet and savoury, also do sausage rolls, quiches and cakes. Can order online for nationwide delivery or can also pick up from their bakery in Portsmouth (see below section)
Manna Dew - the best gluten free croissants and pastries, slightly pricy but completely worth it for a treat.
Voakes - York based company who sell gluten free pies, pork pies, pasties and black pudding. Loads to choose from. Can also be found at various food fairs.
Burtree Puddings - not a completely gluten free company but offer gluten free Christmas puddings as well as sticky toffee and chocolate pudding.
Jakes Cakes and Bakes - 100% gluten free bakery with a range of delicious treats including cookie pies, rocky road, cookies and brownies. Websites restocks at 7pm every Thursday. Also does bespoke celebration cakes for people based around Birmingham area.
Gluten free treats by Holly - Dundee based with national delivery, range of brownies, cookies, cookie pies and also does seasonal treats. Can also collect from Dundee.
Baked to Taste - gluten and wheat free bakery based in Devon with a range of pies, pasties and cakes available to buy online.
Lovelies - specialises in chocolate truffles in a 100% gluten free kitchen with dairy free options too.
Dotties Gluten Free - supply cafes in Nottingham but some products are able to be posted out with lots of other options which are collection only, the likes of cake bars, bread, scones, brownies can all be posted out.
Baking N Without - Swansea based but posts all over the UK. Completely gluten free offering season products, bagels, tarts, bread, cakes, pasties. Some items not suitable for posted, can be collected.
Borough 22 - both fried and baked doughnuts all completely gluten free, from sugar doughnuts to chocolate filled. Delivered nationwide or available in various locations in London.
Dou_h & Co Pizza - gluten free at home pizza kits, only do gluten free pizza and toppings.
Homemade Brownie Company - homemade brownies which are always gluten free as standard, available as a subscription or one of boxes in various flavours.
Leighs Gluten Free Bakery - gluten free doughnuts, cinnamon swirls, baguettes, bread and bagels to order for delivery over most of the UK
Wheat Free Bakery - completely gluten free bakery based in Scotland with a wide range of breads, cakes and pastries. Can order online to either collect from Edinburgh or for UK delivery.
Monty Vitos - gluten free croissants, cream teas, crumpets, cannolis, cookies, doughnuts and more all available off their Etsy shop for UK delivery.
Veg Oot - vegan and gluten free goodies including cakes and macarons. UK delivery for postal boxes sent twice a month or can be found on local markets.
Made Marion Gluten Free - Cornwall based with the first bake in a bag gluten free Cornish pasty, they also do a range of other gluten free products including bread, pizza, cakes and pasties for delivery all over the UK or can buy from Portreath Bakery shops in Cornwall.
We are Gfree - gluten free pizza bases and focaccia available to buy online and freeze or keep refrigerated.
Wicked Cookies - a range of gluten free, dairy and gluten free and vegan gluten free cookies available to order online.
Sue's Free From Kitchen - odd products can be found in Waitrose freezers and on Ocado but for a more wide variety you can buy direct off their website. With egg custards, cakes, scones, brownies, pies and pastry there are loads of choices.
Sarahs Creative Kitchen - not a completely gluten free producer but has some gluten free options including brownies, chocolates and truffles, which can be ordered online.
Dark Matters Brownies - completely vegan brownies with gluten free options, can be ordered online for UK delivery or can be found at various events (see section below)
Baked Well at Home - order online for UK delivery. Completely gluten free cookies, cakes and baking kits, not all products can be posted though, some can only be picked up locally in Devon.
Wildcraft Leeds - 100% gluten free bakery which has a permanent front facing shop and café in Leeds but you can also order from online for UK delivery. They offer gluten free doughnuts, whoopie pies, breads, pastries, cakes and cookies.
LJ's Gluten Free Bakery - North London based gluten and dairy free bakery, produces desserts, some Items can be posted nationwide. Local collection and delivery also available.
Free From Bakehouse - completely gluten free and many bakes are also vegan. Options include cheesecakes, cakes, breads and seasonal treats. Some products can be bought online and shipped by Royal Mail. Or can buy from Borough Market, London (see section below)
Flapjackery - completely gluten free flapjack shop which you can purchase from online or they have with 12 shops in the South West (see below section)

BB's Bakery - gluten free bakery with coffee shop in Redruth but also does postal on some products. Bespoke cakes can be done for collection at their bakery/coffee shop. Traybakes, cupcakes, scones available for nationwide delivery.

Honeypot Cottage Bakery - Lichfield bakery who make some gluten free bread. They are not a dedicated gluten free bakery but do have procedures in place before making gluten free goods. Breads can be ordered online.
Knife and Fork Bakery - 100% gluten free bakery selling breads breads and granolas for UK wide delivery.
Bake for the Soul -Newcastle based baker, not completely gluten free but has a large free from range made in a separate area. These businesses are either all completely gluten free or cater to gluten free but they don't have a permanent physical shop, they are all home bakers, market traders, travelling vans and trailers...or anything with no "shop front" so to speak.

Dark Matters Brownies - completely vegan brownies with gluten free options, they can be found at various events mostly around the Bristol and Somerset areas or can be ordered online (see above section)
Buckinghamshire
Chouxly Scrumptious - one of the sisters who own Chouxly Scrumptious is Coeliac so they are very aware of gluten free and have dedicated gluten free days in their po p up shop in Wolverton which include fried doughnut balls, sausage rolls and cakes.
Cambridgeshire
Belles GF Bakes - Based in Warboy, trailer often at serpentine green and other markets and fairs locally. Completely gluten free, order direct by phone or Facebook for collection. Birthday cakes, brownies, blondies and other cakes.
Daniele's Cakes and Bakes - Peterborough based cake maker who can also cater to gluten free, dairy free and vegan cakes. Contact to order your celebration cake for collection or local delivery.

The Gluten Free Cakehouse - Based in Runcorn, Cheshire, this 100% gluten free kitchen produces occasion cakes, cupcakes and bakes for collection or local delivery including Liverpool and Warrington.
Cornwall
Made Marion Gluten Free - Cornwall based with the first bake in a bag gluten free Cornish pasty, they also do a range of other gluten free products including bread, pizza, cakes and pasties. Can buy from Portreath Bakery shops in Cornwall or order online (see above section)
County Durham
Manns Vegan Scran gluten free and vegan bakery at The Nook on Durham Indoor Market and also often found at Norton Green Market and other local markets as well as providing to some cafes around Bishop Auckland. The can also do event catering and occasion cakes. Bakery and market stall offer scones, vegan scotch egg, cakes and more.
Marybakes Gluten Free - Hartlepool based gluten free home bakery who makes lots of delicious goodies for collection including cookies, brownies, cakes and festive treats. Available for collection or local delivery. Few items can be posted but need to contact them.
Derbyshire
White Pumpkin Bakery Heanor based home baked who does gluten free pizza for collection at various events (has to be ordered in advance) around Belper area as well as bespoke cakes and cupcakes
Devon
Baked Well at Home -Completely gluten free cookies, cakes, celebration cakes and baking kits. Based in Barnstaple, Devon, celebration cakes and some others are delivery or collection only but some products can be posted out (see above section).
Mrs Cookes Kitchen - North Devon based gluten free bakery which specialises in traybakes and cakes. During the festive season they also have stollen, mince pies and xmas cakes. They can be found most often at South Molton Pannier Market.
St Maurice Bakery - Based in Plympton, Plymouth, not a completely gluten free bakery but do a gluten free selection on the first Saturday of the month which includes pasties and cakes plus xmas cakes at Christmas. Orders can be made a week in advance of the gluten free day.

Essex Gluten Free Bakery - Gluten free bakery offering cupcakes, brownies and celebration cakes, can be ordered online for collection or local delivery around Essex.

Thyme and Season Catering Manchester based caterers who do street food stalls and wedding/party catering, they can cater to gluten free.

Cake and Bake - not exclusively gluten free but many of her bakes are. Often found in Dunelm Cannock with a full gluten free selection. Buntwood based, can do celebration cakes as well as other bakes gluten free for collection only.
Suffolk
JJs Homemade Bakes 100% gluten free home baker who makes quiches, scotch eggs, cakes and more. They can be found on various markets local to West Suffolk or can be ordered for collection from Lakenheath.
